Mission

Provide a safe space for adults from all backgrounds to feel empowered in their pursuit of well-being by working through difficult emotions without stigma or bias.

Philosophy

Stress and pain are unavoidable parts of life. Our reactions and perception of these situations can cause distress. Working together, you can reframe and learn from painful emotions instead of allowing them to take over.

The quality of our relationship is a powerful source of healing. Individuals who work with me tend to be open-minded and interested in learning about themselves.

In this deep inner work, we will recognize your strengths and the areas in which you may be contributing to the difficulty of certain experiences.

Values

I respect and value all elements of your identity. Academically, this manifests as a passion for the role of psychology in addressing systemic inequalities.

Practically, this shows up as my pursuit of cultural humility. I strive to help you live a harmonious life with your values.

Sources of identity and power exist within us in a world that too often uses these for exclusion.

Your own constellation- ethnicity, race, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, socioeconomic status, and disability- is foundational to your growth.

Whatever the nature of your diaspora- your separation from the people and places you once held close or an internal scattering in which you seek to recollect disconnected parts of your identity - therapy can help.

All conversations are welcome in therapy. We can explore our differences and similarities with honesty and curiosity.

Every experience and perception is valid. It is my responsibility to provide a space that balances both support and challenge for you to examine all thoughts and feelings that you hold inside.

Professional Background

I have experience in different mental health settings, from private practice to community mental health centers.

I have pre-doctoral experience as an addiction counselor.

My doctorate is in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University near Chicago, and my undergraduate degrees came from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

In addition to my private practice, I serve as Adjunct Faculty at Stevenson University’s PsyD program. Participating in training and instruction aligns with my value of professional growth for others and myself.

I am proud to serve the city of Baltimore and its surrounding communities. My practice has expanded to reach residents across Maryland and beyond in several states. As my professional life has expanded, witnessing patients’ resilience and progress inspires my personal growth.
